Deschutes BreweryToday is a big day for some local craft beer fans – its the first day that Deschutes Brewery products are available at local stores and pubs. Martin’s in downtown Roanoke has plans for a Deschutes event later today. The Oregon-based craft brewer plans to open a production facility in Roanoke by 2021. At Barrel Chest in southwest Roanoke County owner Martin Keck says they are already doing big business. Keck says he’s been getting lots of questions lately about the rollout.

Price-Trump protestLots of Donald Trump supporters no doubt are pleased to see the Republican nominee in the Star City for a Town Hall-style meeting this afternoon at Hotel Roanoke. Roanoke Vice-Mayor Anita Price – a Democrat – is NOT one of them. Price and other Hillary Clinton supporters gathered for an anti-Trump rally at Wells Plaza this morning. Vice-presidential running mate Mike Pence will share the spotlight with Trump at the 3pm Town Hall. More from Vice-Mayor Price:
