Area community service agencies are teaming up with law enforcement to take part in another national prescription drug take-back day. The idea is to keep old prescriptions from ending up on the black market or flushed into the water supply. You can drop off old prescription medicines Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Roanoke Civic Center, Tanglewood Mall, the Salem Police Department or the Daleville Kroger.

Roanoke, VA – Citizens are invited to turn in unused or expired
medications for safe disposal as part of the 2nd National
Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. at the following locations:

– Roanoke Civic Center
– Salem Police Department
– Daleville Kroger in Botetourt County
– Tanglewood Kroger in Roanoke County

No appointment is necessary, and no will be questions asked.  Bring
medications to this event where they can be safely collected and then
destroyed by local law enforcement and DEA agents.

This event is sponsored by Roanoke Area Youth Substance Abuse
Coalition (RAYSAC), Western Virginia Water Authority, Prevention
Council of Roanoke County, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration,
Roanoke Police Department, Roanoke County Police Department, Salem
Police Department, and the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Department.
