Also on Saturday, Explore Park will be hosting two exciting events within the open house. Kicking off at 10 a.m., the 6th annual Amazing County Treasure Hunt is a geocaching challenge in which teams search to find hidden caches of varying point values using a GPS device. New this year, choose between novice and expert skill levels. The Into the Wild 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run also begins at 10 a.m., with proceeds to benefit Mill Mountain Zoo.

Explore Park is located just off milepost 115 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This event marks the first spring season under the management of Roanoke County, which took over operation of Explore Park in October, 2013.
