Dozens of vehicles damaged in Roanoke City

The Roanoke Police Department says 57 vehicles were damaged over the weekend from either a BB gun or air rifle.   A $500 reward is being offered in the case.  News/Talk 960’s Timothy Martin reports.

Roanoke, VA- The Roanoke Police Department is seeking information from the
public regarding incidents of property damage.  Officers responded at 8:40
a.m. on February 13, 2011, to the 2700 block of Laburnum Avenue in
reference to a vehicle that appeared to have its windows damaged by a bb
gun or air rifle.  Upon further investigation officers located more
vehicles that had been damaged in a similar manner.  In addition, citizens
called to report damage to their vehicles.  A total of 57 vehicles were
damaged in the following areas:

  2500-2700 blocks of Laburnum Avenue
  2000-2600 blocks of Avenel Avenue
  2100 block of Carter Road
  2800 block of Bluefield Boulevard
  2400 block of Grandin Road
  1800 block of Warrington Avenue
  1400 block of Windborne Avenue
  1700 and 2100 blocks of Dudding Street
  300 block of Albemarle Avenue
  1100 and 2700 blocks of Franklin Road
  300 block of Walnut Avenue
  3900 block of Park Lane
  2300 block of Broadway Avenue
  3500 block of Yellow Mountain Road
  1700 block of Devon Road
  2400 block of Windsor Avenue

No arrests have been made at this time.  The Roanoke Police Department is
following leads and is requesting additional information from the public.
Anyone with information regarding these or other crimes should call the
Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.  Crime
Line may offer a monetary reward for any information leading to an arrest.
