“Doc” Holliday diploma: Is is real?

Doc Holiday Diploma smNorth Cross School may or may not have the authentic dental school diploma from old west legend “Doc” Holliday, but everybody’s been talking about it since it turned up with a number of items donated for next weekend’s “Big Flea Sale.” David Lake, Associate Director of Development at North Cross, says experts who’ve looked at it so far say it could be the real thing. The diploma is dated March 1, 1872, issued by the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery and confers a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S). The recipient is listed as John H. Holliday. “Doc” Holliday is best remembered for his role in the 1881 “Gunfight at the OK Corral.” Lake says they’ll do what they can in the next few days to authenticate the diploma. In any case, it will be sold at the North Cross School “Big Flea Sale” next weekend.
