UPDATE: Crash on Rt. 311 in Roanoke Co.

Roanoke County police say two drivers went to the hospital Wednesday morning, following a crash that shutdown Rt. 311 for nearly two hours. A minivan reportedly crossed the center line on Catawba Valley Drive near Rusty Road around 6:40 a.m. The van hit a pickup truck head-on. Both vehicles have heavy front end damage. There’s no word on the conditions of the two drivers.

Roanoke County police say Rt. 311 is now open.

Roanoke County police say around 6:39 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Rt. 311 (Catawba Valley Drive) and Rusty Road. That’s near Rt. 911 (Sagewood Circle). A multi-vehicle crash has the intersection blocked at this time. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and detour the accident by using Bradshaw Road and Oakey Dolin Road. Police are not sure how long the roadway will be blocked.
