It’s a term you may not have heard before: “pad-ready” — preparing an industrial site in advance in hopes of attracting a new business. It involves things like grading the earth and putting in utilities. Just this week, Botetourt Supervisors approved spending $275,000 to create a pad-ready site. County officials say it’s money likely to more than pay for itself down the line. Work to prepare this pad-ready site will begin next month and should be completed by June.
