First came the updated “raptor house” for a bald eagle last month; now the renovated Snow Leopard exhibit makes its debut today at Mill Mountain Zoo. WFIR’s Gene Marrano has the story:
Virginia Tech’s club hockey team is getting to move in to a home of its own – the Lancerlot in Vinton, where the valley’s second sheet of ice is almost ready to go.
Tomorrow more than a dozen local authors will be at the South County Library on Merriman Road – for avid readers its a chance to meet and greet them – and to pick up a few books. More from WFIR’s Gene Marrano:
“Nice Work if You Can Get It,” is a stage musical set just before Prohibition took hold in the Roaring Twenties. Attic Productions in Fincastle is gearing up for a production that opens in late July – and they’ve got the “help wanted” sign out. Most of the casting is done, but director James Honnaker says they need about 4 more women and 5 men who can dance and perhaps sing in some of the big production numbers.
