Update from Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office:”Taylor Sparks, missing juvenile from Botetourt County was located Wednesday night August 7th around 11 pm in the Blue Ridge section of the County. Media coverage, citizen calls and extensive investigative follow-up by Patrol Units and Detectives aided in Taylor’s safe return to her family.”

The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of a runaway juvenile. Sixteen-year-old Taylor Sparks was last seen near Route 220 north of Fincastle Monday afternoon. Sparks is a white female, with brown hair, approximately 5’ 4”, 140 pounds, and was last wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans. The sheriff’s office asks you to call if you have any information on where Taylor Sparks might be.

Roanoke-County-LogoOfficials are calling it the largest single manufacturing investment in Roanoke County history:  A company based in Luxembourg plans to locate a state-of-the-art metal can manufacturing facility in the old Hanover Direct Distribution Center on Hollins Road. Officials say the Ardagh Group will invest $93.5 million on the plant and equipment and create 96 new jobs.

NNOThey’re leaving the light on for you. More than a dozen neighborhoods in Roanoke are taking part in this year’s “National Night Out Against Crime” event Tuesday night. Bob Clement, Roanoke’s Neighborhood Services Coordinator,  says the idea is to “tell the bad guys that we’re standing up for our neighborhoods.”

Bedford County authorities have brought back a suspected credit card thief after he was arrested for jaywalking in California. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Michael Wayne Kidd is accused of stealing the wallets and credit cards of two women as they took part in a wedding last February at Faith Life Baptist Church in Montvale. Police caught up with Kidd in May when he crossed a street against a traffic light in San Diego.
