Appalachian Power looking to raise rates

ROANOKE, Va. (AP)   Appalachian Power is seeking to increase the assessment it charges Virginia customers to recover higher costs of coal and other fuel.  The company asked the State Corporation Commission on Tuesday to approve its request to increase the fuel factor it charges in Virginia.

Time is just about up to file your federal taxes on time.  The deadline is tomorrow night.  IRS Spokesman Mark Hanson says if you need help, it’s best to go to IRS.gov.  You can also call 1-800-829-1040.  WFIR’s Timothy Martin reports.
